Neurocritical Care – an opportunity to work together
Targeted Temperature management (TTM) for cardiac arrest: what now? what next?
Presented By Niklas Nielsen (Lund University, Sweden)
Niklas Nielsen is an Intensive Care Physician at Helsingborg Hospital in Sweden and the lead author of the TTM for Cardiac Arrest study that was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2013. Niklas has had a 15-year journey in conducting high quality research that has impacted clinical practice.
Niklas will share his thoughts about the current state of play for TTM after Cardiac Arrest and will introduce the TTM-2 study that has recently been funded and that will start enrolling patients in 2017. There is an opportunity for Australian and New Zealand sites to build on our participation in the TTM study and participate in TTM-2.
Establishing a registry for neurocritical care.

Anthony Delaney is an Intensive Care Physician in The Malcolm Fisher Department of Intensive Care Medicine at the Royal North Shore Hospital. Anthony will share with the work of a team at RNSH who are developing a Registry for patients with Traumatic Brain Injury, Subarachnoid Haemorrhage (SAH) and Intracerebral Haemorrhage, including 6 and 12 months Outcomes. This work is being conducted alongside a National program (PROMOTE –SAH) to further understand the epidemiology of severe brain injury. There are opportunities to expand this program to further improve the care of patients with severe brain injur
