Critical STEPS is a 2-day practical course covering the key aspects required for managing critically ill patients. This modern, unique and innovative course will teach you concepts, methods and skills including critical care procedures using hands-on workshops and extensive simulation scenarios.
Critical STEPS has been developed by a number of the convenors from two successfully run courses –
– ABC of Critical Skills Workshop (last 6 years)
– ICE Course, previously the Box Hill Course ICM course (last 10 years)
The course consists of interactive discussions and practical skills stations delivered by expert Faculty. This is followed by multiple immersive high- fidelity simulated scenarios with expert debriefing, which covers all aspects in managing critically ill patients. The course also has a very strong focus on team leadership and crisis resource management.
A certificate will be presented on completion of the course.
This hands-on course is targeted at junior doctors interested in a career in critical care areas such as Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Anaesthesia, Peri-Operative and Acute Medicine.
It is also ideal for any interns, junior and senior Doctors-in-Training as well as senior clinicians who want to refresh their skills in the managing critically ill patients.
