When you become a specialist in an intensive care, while the clinical component of your work remains the primary reason for being there, a whole new world of non-clinical responsibilities will become apparent. It is useful to be aware of some of these and maybe even have picked out which ones would be of interest to you, rather than finding that the tedious ones have been defaulted to the new guy.
