Critical Care Reviews Meeting 2016
29/01/16
Once again, it’s almost time for the annual Critical Care Reviews Meeting, discussing the biggest studies from the past year. There is a fantastic set of speakers from around the world, including Paul Young (Wellington – discussing his HEAT and SPLIT trials), John Holcomb (Houston – discussing his PROPPR trial), Tony Gordon (London – discussing his VANISH trial), and Tim Walsh – (Edinburgh – discussing his RECOVER trial and ABLE). In addition, Luciano Gattinoni (Milan), John-Louis Vincent (Brussels) and Danny McAuley (Belfast) will be on hand to discuss the relevance of these studies, plus offer other insights into their practice. Brian Burns (Sydney) will conclude the formal sessions, with his delivery of the inaugural John Hinds’ Trauma Lecture, fulfilling John’s desire to improve trauma care everywhere.
In the evening we have incredible popular “informal chat”, overlooking the slipway where RMS Titanic was constructed. The pre-dinner talk will be given by Chris Andrews, on his Great Great Uncle Thomas Andrews, the “Man who Built Titanic”. The meeting is on in the award winning Titanic Centre in Belfast on Friday January 29th. If you are unlucky enough not to be able to make it, all the presentations will be videoed and made freely available online after the event. This not-for-profit meeting is run in association with the Northern Ireland Intensive Care Society and is supported by a unrestricted grant from the SMACC Charity C4, the Centre for Critical Care Collaboration. Registration and further details are available at www.bit.do/CCR16.
