John Hinds gives his final talk, on a subject he was most passionate about: Motorcycle medicine. After his incredibly popular talk from SMACC Gold, John was asked to bring us more “Cases from the Races” and he delivered another memorable, poignant, funny and educational talk in the effortless way that only he could.
He describes how the mechanism of trauma is more important than speed, the importance of reading the scene, how rapid extrication is essential and explains how traumatic cardiac arrest is a “tale of two Frenchmen”.
Much has already been written about the tragic accident that ended John’s life this year. This talk is hard to listen to in many ways but John’s passion about riding and caring for riders is so clear and this talk is part of the legacy he leaves behind.
