SAFE stands for Strategic Approach to the Fellowship Exams. is a unique exam-preparation course for Fellowship Advanced Trainees intending to sit the CICM Part 2 exams in 2017 (either May or October). It is unique in focusing on the strategy required to passed the exams – e.g., using videographic feedback techniques, hot case sessions with extended feedback, trainees becoming examiners for other candidates, a full trial written exam with 15 questions etc. The faculty are senior examiners or educationalists with a lot of experience in guiding trainees.
Highlights include:
- small group workshops on how to answer written questions,
- data interpretation and radiology;
- real CICM examiners;
- full 2½ hour written exam which is marked by examiners with feedback,
- excellent lectures on statistics, critical care evidence base, microbiology etc.
