Sepsis kills 7500 Australians every year, more than breast and prostate cancer combined.
September is sepsis month and September 13th is World Sepsis Day.
Today, Simon Finfer gave a talk (see podcast and slides below) on what sepsis is, and some of the current issues with sepsis.

Sepsis is all over the news at the moment, especially after the tragic death of Asylum seeker Hamid Khazaei, who died from a sepsis just three weeks after he’d cut his foot at Manus Island detention centre.
