The Sydney Short Course is on again at the end of June and participants in this course come from all over Australia. The majority will be sitting the College of Intensive Care Medicine Fellowship examinations later this year. The course has been designed to be four days of intense preparation, geared specifically to the clinical and viva voce component of the exam.
An added component of the short course is the Sydney Written Course, which will also be held at the Medical Education Centre, Concord Hospital.
Intensive Care Specialists make up the faculty, so you are getting current knowledge and advice, not only for the exam, but for your future career.
You will be exposed to a variety of locations, scenarios and “examiners” that will take you through written question, viva and hot case practice. There will be actors on hand to simulate patient scenarios, focussing particularly on the communication elements of the CICM specialist exam.
