The 2010 update to the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines have been out for a while now. Most of you will have read at least parts of them and there are plenty of reviews out there in cyber-medicine world. So here’s our summary of the BLS and ALS guidelines. Notably, there has been some additional focus on post resuscitation care and prognostication in the era of post resuscitation therapeutic hypothermia. This time the Australian and New Zealand councils got together and issued joint guidelines, recognising that colleges such as those for ICU and ED administer to both populations and that there is a fair amount of trans-Tasman medical fertilisation. |
