For those of you not familiar with EMCRIT, it’s a fantastic critical care blog run by Scott Weingart, an ED intensivist from New York City. He brings upstairs downstairs. Whilst we’ve been accused by our bed managers of bringing the whole of downstairs upstairs we also adhere to the same tenets laid down by Scott (perhaps the four Noble Truths for the resuscitationist?):

• Translate complex critical care concepts to the bedside
• Learn to think better under stress
• Practice maximally aggressive care
• Relieve suffering in all patients

Every year Scott gives his run down of the most wholesome medical websites he’s run into over the past year. You may remember the Dirty Dozen from last year (still worth checking out now…)

This year ICN has made his “Hard Six“.
