With fanfare, pomp and ceremony, we would like to announce that the Victorian Intensive Care Network will go live on the 8th of August this year. Dr Cameron Knott (Intensivist at The Austin) has assembled a team of enthusiastic intensivists who have been working away to establish the latest arm of the Intensive Care Network. There is already a strong tradition of educational meetings for trainees and fellows in Victorian hospitals and Cameron’s team has taken the next step and worked to bring a number of these groups together to provide educational meetings in the same vein as S.I.N and B.I.N. (Hmm, might have to get M-Diddy to compose a celebratory ditty for VIN’s red carpet night). Like S.I.N. and B.I.N. the meetings will combine education and local networking and generate podacsts for those who cannot be there in person. And, down the line, the meetings will be broadcast live online. For the inaugural V.I.N. meeting on August 8th, Dr. Vin Pellegrino, senior intensivist and ECMO clinical services director at The Alfred in Melbourne, will be discussing ECMO in cardiovascular failure. If you want more information, or you want to get a question in early, e-mail the V.I.N. team " target="_blank">here. |
