Double Lumen Tubes
This 15 minute video on double lumen tubes (endotracheal tubes, DLT’s) in critical care covers indications, techniques, bronchoscopy and trouble shooting.
The video starts with a 5 minute presentation on what the indications for Double Lumen ETT’s in Intensive Care.
Dr Li Tan explains that 90% of cases can be managed with a left sided DLT which is easier to place because of the anatomy of the Right Upper Lobe bronchus.
The remainder of the video demonstrates placement of the DLT and confirmation of the position with bronchoscopy.
